Yi-Ling Liu is a writer & editor covering AI and Chinese society, from a human-centered lens. She is currently writing a narrative non-fiction book on the Chinese internet. 

 

As a writer, her work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, Harper’s Magazine, WIRED & The New Yorker on topics ranging from science-fiction novelists to national burnout crises to gay dating apps.  

As an editor, she launched & led the China desk at Rest of World as the first China Editor.

Shakeel was previously a news editor at The Economist. 

 

He recently worked as Head Of Communications at CEA and co-founded the AI Safety Communications Centre, a project connecting journalists to AI safety experts and resources. Prior to that, he was a growth manager and newsletter writer at Protocol, a financial journalist for Finimize, and the founder of an AI-journalism company.

Nathaniel covered Wall Street and Silicon Valley for The New York Times for over a decade. Before that, he worked at the Forward and the Los Angeles Times in New York City.

He has reported and written about technology, finance, culture and history for over two decades. He is currently working on a mix of book, magazine, film and audio projects.
