Michel Justen
AI Grants Lead
Michel was an AI Governance Research Fellow at Pivotal Research prior to joining Tarbell. He also worked as an Events Associate at the Centre for Effective Altruism and interned at USAID, the Center for Healthy Minds, and the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences.

Yi-Ling Liu
Journalist in Residence
Yi-Ling Liu is a writer & editor covering AI and Chinese society, from a human-centered lens.
As a writer, her work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, Harper’s Magazine, WIRED & The New Yorker on topics ranging from science-fiction novelists to national burnout crises to gay dating apps.
As an editor, she launched & led the China desk at Rest of World as the first China Editor.

Leah Harrison
Partnerships Director
Leah is a journalist and product manager who joined Bloomberg News when it was a plucky start-up and spent more than two decades helping to build the newsroom in Asia, Europe and the U.S. As a managing editor she developed Bloomberg’s explainer formats, leading a team of editors working across financial markets, economics and company news. She has also trained more than a thousand business journalists in writing and editing skills.

Jasper Jackson
Managing Editor, Transformer
Jasper is an investigative journalist specializing in technology and media. He was previously technology editor at the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, the assistant media editor of the Guardian, and digital editor of the New Statesman. He has spent more than a decade writing about and applying techniques in digital media and technology.

Celia Ford
Reporter, Transformer
Celia covers AI policy for Transformer. She was previously a fellow at The Open Notebook, Wired, and Vox's Future Perfect. She also writes The Replacement, a biweekly(ish) newsletter covering developments in human-centered biomedical research.
Celia was previously a primate electrophysiologist, receiving her Ph.D. in neuroscience from UC Berkeley.
