Cillian is an impact-focused entrepreneur. He founded Tarbell in 2022 after participating in Charity Entrepreneurship, a highly competitive non-profit incubator. He previously cofounded and ran Talos Network and Training for Good.

Shakeel is a business and technology reporter. He worked as a news editor at The Economist and writesTransformer, an AI newsletter read by officials in the White House, the Senate and the Commerce Department. He previously worked as head of communications at the Centre for Effective Altruism.

Sawyer is an experienced non-profit professional. He served as Executive Director of BERI, an organisation providing support to academics. He also serves as a board member for FAR.AI and SecureBio.

Anna previously worked as a reporter at TIME, as a Reporting Fellow for the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, and as a freelance journalist from Kenya. She has a M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University has a background in economics and finance.

Michel was an AI Governance Research Fellow at Pivotal Research prior to joining Tarbell. He also worked as an Events Associate at the Centre for Effective Altruism and interned at USAID, the Center for Healthy Minds, and the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences.

Yi-Ling Liu is a writer & editor covering AI and Chinese society, from a human-centered lens.

As a writer, her work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, Harper’s Magazine, WIRED & The New Yorker on topics ranging from science-fiction novelists to national burnout crises to gay dating apps. 

As an editor, she launched & led the China desk at Rest of World as the first China Editor.

Leah is a journalist and product manager who joined Bloomberg News when it was a plucky start-up and spent more than two decades helping to build the newsroom in Asia, Europe and the U.S. As a managing editor she developed Bloomberg’s explainer formats, leading a team of editors working across financial markets, economics and company news. She has also trained more than a thousand business journalists in writing and editing skills.

Jasper is an investigative journalist specializing in technology and media. He was previously technology editor at the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, the assistant media editor of the Guardian, and digital editor of the New Statesman. He has spent more than a decade writing about and applying techniques in digital media and technology.

Celia covers AI policy for Transformer. She was previously a fellow at The Open Notebook, Wired, and Vox's Future Perfect. She also writes The Replacement, a biweekly(ish) newsletter covering developments in  human-centered biomedical research.

Celia was previously a primate electrophysiologist, receiving her Ph.D. in neuroscience from UC Berkeley.
